Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Skillet
  • Spatula
  • Paper towels

Ingredients

  • 1 cup crushed Ritz cracker crumbs approximately 25 Ritz crackers
  • 18-19 ounces canned salmon cleaned 3 6-ounce cans or two 14.75-ounce cans with bones and skin taken out
  • 2 eggs whisked
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of green onions chopped finely
  • 1 tablespoon of dried parsley flakes
  • 1 cup of vegetable oil

Instructions

  • Create your Mixture: Mix canned salmon Ritz crackers and eggs whisked with lemon juice, green onions, and parsley in a large mixing bowl. Blend gently until all ingredients are incorporated.
  • Create the patties. Divide the mixture into eight equal components. Make each one into rectangular patties with a 1/2-inch thickness.
The oil is now ready to be heated. Warm vegetable oil inside a big pot on a medium heat. Verify the oil's quality by dropping a tiny breadcrumb into the oil. If it sizzles, then the oil is ready.
  • Make the patties. Put the patties lightly into the pan. Make sure not to over-crowd them. Cook for around 8 minutes on one side until crispy and golden brown. Then flip and cook another 5-6 minutes.
  • Serve: Remove the patties from the pan and set them in a bowl lined with paper towels to remove the excess oil. Serve them hot with your preferred condiment or as a part of an entree with your old Fashioned Salmon Patties recipe.

Notes

The heat in the pan to stop the patties from getting burned. The oil must smear but not scorch, making sure the traditional Old Fashioned Salmon Patties recipe cooks equally.
Ensure your hands are gentle while handling the patties to avoid falling into pieces. Please ensure you are careful when flipping them into the skillet since applying excessive pressure could make them break.
The remaining leftovers can be stored in an airtight container stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat them using the microwave or oven for an even crisper texture. The old Fashioned Salmon Patties recipe stays as good as it was the first time.
